

Prof. Dr. Kadriye Orta Kılıçkesmez is one of the leading figures in the field of cardiology in Turkey. She was born on January 24, 1974, in Tekirdağ. After completing her medical degree at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, she chose cardiology as her specialty and completed her residency training at the Cardiology Institute of the same university.
After working for a short period at Çorlu State Hospital and Turkish Kidney Foundation Service Hospital, she returned to the I.U. Cardiology Institute. Continuing her academic career there, Kadriye Kılıçkesmez became an Associate Professor in 2012. She then worked at Royal Brompton Hospital in London on complex coronary interventions, CTO intracoronary imaging, and structural heart diseases, and authored scientific publications. In 2015, she was appointed by the university to establish the cardiology clinic and Angio laboratory at Şişli Etfal Hospital. In 2017, she became a Professor. In 2020, she founded the cardiology clinic and Angio laboratory at Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital and ensured that the clinic became an accredited training center.
Recognized for her contributions and achievements in scientific research, Kılıçkesmez is a member of numerous national and international scientific organizations. She actively participates in associations such as the Turkish Society of Cardiology and the Turkish Medical Association. She also serves as a reviewer for international journals and has held the position of Associate Editor at the Turkish Society of Cardiology Archives.
Distinguished by her awards and achievements, Kılıçkesmez has received two Scientific Poster Exhibit Awards at the National Congress of Cardiology. In recent years, she has also played an important academic role by delivering undergraduate and postgraduate lectures. She has taught courses on bioresorbable coronary stents, intracoronary imaging, and coronary bifurcation stenting techniques, while mentoring students in these areas.
She is a proctor (trainer) and consultant in structural heart diseases and complex coronary interventions. In this role, she provides certification training on interventional techniques to cardiologists in Turkey and neighboring countries. She also organizes courses and workshops on coronary and structural interventions for colleagues both nationally and internationally.
